The ability for the provider to monitor a PBX through a service agreement with AT&T, later Lucent then Avaya was capable in the very beginning in the System 75 PBX, in this narrative – the developers explain this possible feature. What’s coincidental, was this Orwellian type of feature was released in 1984. Couldn’t resist! Works to get this to be searchable text later this year in 2015.
